Have you ever wondered where Hallowe’en originated, what a ’guy’ is, or how the English celebrate May Day? Festivals and Food will give you ample information about the main festivals and eating habits in the English speaking world. This ’cultural’ module offers 20-24 hours of teaching material. The varied and exciting activities will enable students to practise the 4 skills making the module an invaluable support in developing communication and study skills. Festivals and Food enhances an interdisciplinary approach to language learning, encouraging students to work autonomously and to use the Internet. A traditional Christmas carol along with texts, recipes and other fun listening activities are recorder on the accompanying cassette.
