Ghostly Company Teacher´s Book

Ghostly Company – Teacher’s Book is a teacher’s guide accompanying the student reader of the same title, published by Cideb in their “Interact with Literature” (or similar) series. The reader itself contains six short stories in English that explore the boundary between the living and the supernatural, asking questions such as “Which of us are ghosts?” and suggesting that ordinary life might intersect with a mysterious or timeless dimension.
In this Teacher’s Book edition, the teacher is provided with:

detailed unit-plans for each story including aims, language focus, discussion questions and tasks;

suggestions for exploiting the reader in mixed-skills lessons emphasising reading, speaking and critical thinking;

extension activities which invite students to explore themes of identity, time, life and death in literature;

guidance on how to integrate the reader with audio (CD) or multimedia resources (if part of the set) to create a richer learning environment.

This guide is especially suitаble for secondary or upper-secondary English classes (EFL/ESL) where students already have some competence and are ready to engage with more open-ended, thematic and emotionally nuanced texts. It helps teachers to move beyond simple comprehension towards reflection, evaluation and even creative responses in English.
